Trevone gives you a small coastal base just outside Padstow, with a sandy beach, rock pools and easy access to the Seven Bays area. It is quieter than Padstow, but close enough to use the town for restaurants, shops, harbour walks and the Camel Estuary. The village is a good option if you want the beach close by without staying in one of north Cornwall’s busier centres. Harlyn, Constantine, Treyarnon and St Merryn are all nearby, making Trevone well placed for simple beach days, coast path walks and short trips around this part of Cornwall.

Villages and towns nearby

The nearest town is Padstow which is perfect for meals out, shops, harbour walks and boat trips. It has more going on than Trevone, especially in summer, but staying in Trevone keeps you slightly away from the busiest streets and parking pressure. The short distance between the two makes it easy to enjoy Padstow without basing the whole holiday there.

St Merryn is another handy nearby village, especially for pubs, food shops and access to the wider Seven Bays area. Harlyn is close by for a broader beach setting, while Constantine, Treyarnon and Porthcothan give you more coastal options within a short drive. Wadebridge is useful for larger shops, cafés and the Camel Trail.

Beaches around Trevone

Trevone Bay is the main beach, with sand, rock pools and cliffs close to the village. It is a good choice for families because the beach is easy to reach and has local facilities nearby. At low tide, the rock pools are a big part of the appeal, while surf and sea conditions should always be checked before swimming.

Harlyn Bay Beach is nearby and offers a wider sandy beach with easier space for family days and water-sports. Constantine Bay Beach and Booby’s Bay give you a more open north coast feel, with surf when conditions are right. Treyarnon Bay is smaller and good for rock pooling, while Porthcothan offers a sandy beach backed by cliffs and dunes.

Walks, coast path and local days out

The South West Coast Path runs through Trevone, making it easy to walk towards Padstow in one direction or Harlyn and the Seven Bays in the other. These routes give you sea views, headlands, coves and short walking options without needing to drive first. The round hole blowhole near Trevone is one of the local features to look out for, although care is needed around cliff edges.

Padstow adds restaurants, boat trips, the passenger ferry to Rock and access to the Camel Trail for cycling or walking. Trevose Head is also within reach for lighthouse views and wider coastal walks. Trevone is best for visitors who want a small beach village, nearby Padstow and several north Cornwall beaches close enough to use during one stay.
