An immaculate terraced cottage is a one minute walk from Charlestown’s incredible harbour and sandy beach. To the rear of the cottage is a patio garden; sit back with an evening tipple and listen to the trickling waters of the little stream that runs just behind. A daily stroll around this historic unspoilt village will reveal elegant Georgian Houses, quaint fisherman’s cottages, coffee shops, gift shops and a few rather good pubs. Charlestown, a Unesco World Heritage Site, still survives as a working port with many a tall ship coming and going, as well as fishing boats and other water craft. Slap bang in the middle of the Cornish Riviera, other coastal hotspots nearby include Mevagissey, Looe and Fowey and we recommend the latter for a day of browsing galleries and boutiques followed by a waterside lunch and a spot of boat watching.
