At the end of each eventful day, climb the steep, cottage-style stairs up to the first floor to lay your head in the comfortable double bedroom. There is also a family bathroom up here where you can soak in a long, hot bubble bath. Take the air out in the shared courtyard or wander 300 metres to Southwold Common. Have a day out to explore the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Visit Dunwich, 7.5 miles away and famous for its history as a medieval port that disappeared beneath the waves. Walk along the secluded beach here or through the colourful heathland.
