Stock up on fresh produce from the shops in town or treat yourselves to dinner out at one of the nearby restaurants or fish and chip shops. Head out for a stroll along the Promenade, which backs the beach, and visit the pier. Spend the day sunbathing or surfing on one of the town's two beaches, Southwold Pier Beach (less than 500 metres) and Denes Beach. Enjoy a movie at the Electric Picture Palace cinema, catch the foot ferry at the harbour (summer only) or walk over the footbridge across the river to Walberswick to go crabbing. Play golf at the 9-hole course on the heathland of the Common, take a tour of Adnams distillery and be sure to taste their products!
